Story of WDB Group

Some projects started at the client’s request. One was the CRO project in which development of pharmaceuticals is done by contract. The company began offering contract services after receiving requests for long-term partnership and support from pharmaceutical companies where temp staff was dispatched. The deciding factor for whether to enter the CRO business in earnest went against the conventional wisdom in the industry. The company wanted to make cracks in the world of CRO, where high cost was the norm. In 2010, the new company WDB Medical was established. Later, ICO became a subsidiary, and then both companies merged, creating the current WDB ICO in 2013. Renowned for high quality yet low cost service achieved through the company’s own efforts as well as through the willingness to tackle issues as a partner, the company entered the top five largest in the field of safety information management in Japan, rivaling major companies.

In June, 2011, "WDB Doppo" was established as an exception subsidiary of the WDB group to promote the person with a disability employment that we worked on from 2004.
For "Doppo" called "walking alone" "by oneself thing making sense in a thing" have a meaning. The WDB group does not give a response more overprotective than required while performing support depending on the situation to each employee. Because they think that the responsibility for the work of everybody is the same.
We do not carry out the person with a disability employment only to achieve person with a disability employment rate decided by a law. Workers feel worth for daily work because they work hard with a sense of responsibility. WDB Group wants the emploees to keep a skill and experience alive, and to feel worth doing and to work without having consciousness of disability.
With such a thought, and "WDB Doppo" has begun to move forward.

Having expanded both the scale and domain of its business, WDB shifted to a holding company system called WDB Holdings in November 2011 for even more strategic group management. Under this new system, the group has worked to take maximum advantage of its strengths, with even more sophisticated decision making and quicker response in its business, in order to sharpen its competitive edge.
At the same time that the company changed to a holding system, it began construction of its headquarters. In the 8-story building in Himeji, where the company was established, Nakano was filled with feelings at how far he had come. Nakano, who was thorough in everything that he did, went to the site himself to actually see and feel whether the building materials were good enough. The headquarters, built using all five senses with uncompromising thoroughness, from the materials to the details in the furniture, was unveiled in January 2012. There is a space called the Rooftop Garden that serves as a place where employees can relax, and where a beer-drinking party is held every summer.
